Kate is a home designer, handywoman, and maker. From envisioning room layouts, choosing finishes, or building custom pieces, Kate can help you maximize your home’s potential.

She taught high school for decade before pursuing her passion for home design. The pandemic provided an unexpected opportunity for her to reshape her life, and she founded HOME(re)WORK in 2021.

Kate is passionate about empowering homeowners to claim their space as their own. She encourages individuals to embrace their unique style and provides them with the designs, solutions, and skills to achieve their ideal home.

In her spare time, Kate works to restore her 1939 bungalow with the help of her husband, son, and Scottish terrier. She is also a skilled sewist, avid traveler, and urban gardener. She learned about home design and handywork through generations of family house projects and living in fixer-uppers. She earned her bachelor’s in English and Theater from Luther College and master’s in Communication Management from the University of Concordia-St. Paul.
